About Manny Nabarrette

Manny Nabarrette is the creator of the three-level framework presented in The Three Levels of Consciousness. His understanding of human consciousness and behavior developed through personal experience, direct observation, approximately 40 years of studying human behavior, and approximately 20 years of direct rehabilitation work. He has personally counseled hundreds of people and interacted with thousands from every walk of life.

The Experience Behind the Framework

Manny’s understanding of human behavior developed through direct involvement in people’s lives. For approximately 20 years, he worked in rehabilitation. Manny, his wife, and their infant daughter opened their home to people whose lives were being destroyed by addiction and alcoholism. At times, 25 to 30 individuals lived with them within the rehabilitation environment Manny developed.

Manny’s wife actively helped him operate the program and shared in its daily responsibilities. She cooked for the men until some of them were taught to help prepare the meals. Their daughter was born into this life. Although she was only an infant, she shared her home, her family, and her daily surroundings with the people living in the program.

They lived together day after day, sharing meals, responsibilities, struggles, setbacks, and victories. The people in the program did not simply attend a class and leave—they became part of the household and experienced daily family life.

Manny wanted them to see more than words. He gave them a living example of how a husband should treat his wife, how a father should treat his child, how people should treat one another, and how a person could live responsibly within society. He cared for them, counseled them, and walked beside them as they confronted destructive patterns, rebuilt relationships, accepted responsibility, and changed their lives.

Manny Was Part of the Study

Manny’s study of human behavior always included himself. He examined his own choices, thought processes, relationships, friendships, successes, failures, reactions, and the changes that took place within him. He did not spend approximately 40 years examining everyone else while removing himself from the process. His life was part of the study. His marriage, family, friendships, mistakes, accomplishments, and personal transformation all contributed to what he learned.

How the Framework Developed

Across approximately 40 years, patterns began coming together. Manny examined how the conscious mind engages with the outward world, how the personal subconscious builds and reinforces internal structures, and how the collective subconscious presses forward from the deepest level of the inner being.

His experience as a spiritual leader included individual counseling, marriage counseling, parenting counseling, life-skills counseling, and teaching classes on marriage, parenting, social responsibility, and the practical skills people needed to function successfully within their families and communities.

Through rehabilitation work, counseling, teaching, community outreach, relationships, and thousands of human interactions, Manny witnessed people at some of the most difficult points in their lives. He also watched people confront destructive patterns, overcome addictions, rebuild marriages and family relationships, accept responsibility, return to their families, and create successful lives.

Years later, some of those individuals searched for Manny and contacted him to explain what had become of their lives and to thank him. Their continued success allowed him to see that the changes he witnessed were not temporary—they continued long after those individuals left the program.

The framework presented in The Three Levels of Consciousness grew from these experiences, along with Manny’s personal transformation and continued examination of his own thoughts, decisions, relationships, successes, failures, and behavior.

The Journey Continues

Manny’s experiences with the subconscious, constructed worlds, and personal change did not end when he left rehabilitation work. They continued through relationships, family, work, challenges, successes, failures, and the ongoing need to examine his own thoughts, emotions, and behavior.

He wrote The Three Levels of Consciousness to help readers recognize the structures operating within their own lives, question the constructions that no longer serve them, and move toward spiritual awareness, true inner peace, enlightenment, purpose, and lasting change.
